Sickle Cell Champions Alliance Uganda is a not-for-profit organization founded by young, passionate health workers. Registered on 4th November 2025, we address the urgent need for awareness, stronger advocacy, and improved access to care across the Lango and Acholi sub-regions.

From Stigma to Strength: A Champion's Journey

In a small village outside Lira, 8-year-old Aceng used to miss school every month due to severe pain crises. Her family felt helpless until they met the Alliance during a community outreach.

Our Vision

Rooted in Lira: The Roadmap to a Stigma-Free Uganda

Founded in Akitenino Cell, Lira City West, our journey began with a group of passionate health workers dedicated to bridging the awareness gap. While our operations are centered in Northern Uganda, our mission is to eliminate SCD stigma nationwide.

Phase 1: Lira City Base

Establishing our core awareness, screening, and peer-mentorship support programs.

Phase 2: Lango & Acholi Regions

Scaling mobile screening clinics and door-to-door support to rural districts across the North.

Phase 3: National Impact

Influencing policy and healthcare infrastructure to ensure every person with SCD in Uganda lives an empowered life.
